FEDPOFFA: Immediate Past Rector, Dr. Lateef Olatunji Graduates From NIPSS Kuru, Bags MNI Honour

The immediate past Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Lateef Ademola Olatunji has bagged Membership of the National Institute (MNI) honor having completed his Senior Executive Course 44, for the year 2022 at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru-Jos.

The graduation ceremony for 89 participants across Nigeria was held on Saturday 3rd of December 2022 at the National Institute main auditorium.

Dr. Olatunji after the successful completion of his tenure as the fourth substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa in January 2022 proceeded to the National Institute for Senior Executive Course 44 themed “Strengthening Local Government in Nigeria: Challenges, Options, and Opportunities.”

The National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS ) was established by Decree no 20 of 1979, now Cap N-51 laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

The Institute was conceived as a high-level institution with the primary objectives of serving as the nation’s foremost policy think-tank to develop a crop of top-class technocrats of high intellectual capacity who will conceptualize and anchor the implementation of innovative and dynamic policy initiatives and strategies critical for national development.

The Institute serves as a high-level center for reflection, research, and dialogue where academics of excellence, seasoned policy initiators and executors, and other citizens of mature experience and wisdom drawn from all walks of life meet to reflect and exchange ideas on the great issue of society, particularly as they relate to Nigeria and Africa.

Reacting to Dr. Olatunji’s achievement, the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics (SSANIP), the Federal Polytechnic Offa Chapter led by Comrade Abdulmajeed Oyinlola congratulated the former Rector and described his achievement as a great feat that is well deserved. “We came from Offa, Kwara State as FEDPOFFA staff and SSANIP executives to celebrate our immediate past Rector, Dr. Lateef Olatunji on his graduation. Dr. Olatunji is a seasoned administrator and highly experienced technocrat. We believe in his intellectual capacity and capability which he showcased here among other participants. We are happy to be associated with him and this is a well-deserved victory” he said.
