#ENDSARS: NAPS CALLS FOR CALM, URGE POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS TO STAY AWAY FROM VIOLENT PROTESTS
The National Association of Polytechnic Students NAPS under the leadership of the National President, Comrade Olalere Benedict Adetunji has urged the Polytechnic community of Nigerian students to stay away from violent actions and embrace peace all the way in their activities.
This was made known to the gentlemen of press by the President of NAPS in a recent briefing with journalists in Ibadan where he reacted to several trending national issues, particularly on NAPS position on #EndSARS protests and peaceful protesters attacked in Lekki city of Lagos state at the October 20th massacre against protesters by armed personnel
The NAPS President condemn with zero tolerance, the military attack on peaceful protesters at the most organized and coordinated Lekki #EndSARS demonstration while he commiserates with the people of Lagos state and Nationwide at large over the loss of lives and injudicious massacre melt on peaceful protesters at the 20th October massacre in Lagos. He prays may their souls find a good repose in God almighty and deeply console the families of the deceased.
NAPS as a body has been major stakeholder in the struggle right from the beginning of #EndSARS protests so far, mobilized our members in numbers, in solidarity with the peaceful protest until recently when we desist from the struggle after noticing the presence of some set of hoodlums hijacking the protest and turning it to an avenue to wreck havoc, destroy properties and disrupt public peace and sanity. – The President Said.
Comrade Benedict furthered in his statement  that “Our students should understand the concept of scientific struggle, strategic roundtable dialogues are meant to follow up peaceful demonstration and not destruction of properties on no matter circumstances.”
We therefore call on our constituents to remain calm and let’s go back to roundtable for a strategic dialogue with the government stakeholders and pursue our demands with diplomacy until the necessary demands are met. –  The NAPS PRESIDENT advised.
We therefore call on Government of Nigeria as a necessity to make the safety of citizen’s life a priority and protect the peaceful protesters against every forms of violent attack while we also enjoined our constituents across the Nation most especially from Lagos State, Oyo State, Ogun State, Ondo State,Osun State, Ekiti State, to embrace calm and strategic approach towards the actualization of the reality of this struggle, peace and Unity of Nigeria is Paramount to us- The President of NAPS concluded.
God bless NAPS!
God bless Nigeria!
Signed:
Comrade Olalere Benedict.
The Global President.
