Education, Works Commissioners Pay Working Visit to OGITECH
Ogun State Institute of Technology Igbesa played host to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, his counterpart for the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Babatunde Adesina and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Lateef Yusuf on Saturday 17th of October, 2020.
The entourage was on a work visit at the instance of the Ogun State Governor, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun MFR who had, during a meeting with all Heads of Tertiary Institutions in Ogun State directed that all state-owned institutions must have their infrastucture improved to international standards to create a conducive learning environment for students in the State.
The Rector of the Institute, Engr. Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunke Olanike Akinkurolere FNSE, while receiving the Team registered her delight. She expressed confidence in the administration of Governor Abiodun MFR, to deliver quality Education in the state, adding that the Governor has shown time and again that Education is a priority in his Building-Our-Future-Together mission.
Prof Arigbabu who commended the Rector and Management of OGITECH for the various infrastructural development done so far in the Institute, promised to improve greatly on what he met on ground. He hinted that a comprehensive report on the state of infrastucture at all the Tertiary Institutions in the state will be forwarded to the Governor at the end of the state-wide work visit, for necessary action.
For his part, Engr. Akinsanya said that work has begun in some Institutions and equipment will be deployed for work to commence in others.
He also stated that resources will be deployed to ensure that the drainage, landscape and road network within OGITECH Campus, are all done.
