Ekiti State Polytechnic signs mou for food science technology accreditation

Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan-Ekiti, has taken a major step toward securing accreditation for its Food Science Technology programme by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DEBTAB Global Resources Limited, Iṣan-Ekiti. The partnership, sealed on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the bakery premises of DEBTAB Global Resources, is set to facilitate the smooth running of the programme, which is among the seventeen awaiting accreditation this month by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Speaking at the event, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe, emphasized the importance of industry collaboration in technical education. He noted that the MoU would provide students with practical training in food processing and bakery technology, ensuring they acquire relevant skills for the job market.
The proprietor of DEBTAB Global Resources, Mr. Matthew Adekanbi, and the General Manager, Pastor Adekanbi, pledged their full support for the Polytechnic’s accreditation bid. They reaffirmed their commitment to providing students with the necessary exposure to industry standards in food production.
Dignitaries present at the signing ceremony included the Registrar, Mrs. Abímbólá Yetunde Adewumi; the Bursar, Mr. Oludayo Awe; the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Ayodeji Akerele; and other principal officers of the institution.
The partnership is expected to enhance practical learning for students, ensuring they meet industry standards and NBTE requirements. With this strategic collaboration, Ekiti State Polytechnic continues to strengthen its position as a leading institution committed to producing skilled graduates ready for the workforce
