Ekiti College of Health Honours Former Deputy Provost Abolarin for Outstanding Leadership

The Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, has showered praises on its immediate past Deputy Provost, Mr. Raphael Kayode Abolarin, describing him as a dedicated leader and problem solver whose legacy will be remembered for years.
At an appreciation programme organized in his honor, staff members commended Abolarin’s unwavering commitment and leadership qualities. The College Provost, Dr. Olajumoke Adebayo, highlighted his sacrifices, revealing that he never took a single day of leave throughout his four-year tenure. She described him as a loyal and dependable partner who played a key role in uniting the institution’s leadership.
The College Registrar, Mrs. Caroline Ogunsakin, echoed similar sentiments, stating that Abolarin was a reliable representative of the Provost at crucial moments. She praised his humility, teamwork, and peaceful nature, noting that his absence would be deeply felt.
The Bursar, Dr. Funmilayo Alonge, lauded Abolarin’s resilience, describing him as an administrator who never saw anything as impossible. Similarly, the Director of ICT, Dr. Olufemi Olubamise, called him a “bridge-builder” who fostered a strong connection between staff and management.
Academic leaders, including the Dean of the School of Community and Public Health, Mrs. Ojo Ereola, highlighted Abolarin’s enthusiasm for rapid project execution. Meanwhile, representatives from the College’s three staff unions—ASUP, SSANIP, and NASU—unanimously described him as a fair and approachable leader. They announced plans to celebrate him further at a later date.
In his response, Abolarin expressed gratitude to the College Governing Council Chairman, Dr. Femi Thomas, for his leadership and support. He also emphasized the importance of loyalty and respect in professional relationships. Urging staff members to support the newly appointed Deputy Provost, Mrs. Iyabo Oladapo, he encouraged continued collaboration for the growth of the institution.
The event, attended by top officials, staff union representatives, and academic board members, featured prayers and a presentation of gifts to honor Abolarin’s service.
