EDE POLY: ASUP Lists Condition For Resumption of Academic Activities

The Academic staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Ede chapter, has listed Payment of 50% allowance as  Conditions for resumption of academic activities for the 2021/2022 academic session. The Union stressed that their members would resume for new session on Monday July 4th 2022.

Comrade Azeez, Ede Poly ASUP chairman  confirmed to POLYTV that if by July 4th the school management didn’t pay 100% PT allowance, they will be left with no other choice than to attend to full-time students only.

Comrade Azeez futher said that the polytechnic lecturers cannot observe the activities in the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic calendar at the same thus they will continue to observe and focus on the activities in the remaining 2020/2021 academic session.

“Our members shall resume for the new 2021/2022 academic session July 4th.” he added

The Union held an emergency meeting on Wednesday 22nd June 2022 and resolved that;

1 That the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Academic Calendars cannot be run pari pasu and members sh continue to work on the remaining activities in the 2020/2021 Academic session.

2. That also, Members shall resume for new Academic session from 4th of July 2022.

3. That 50% of Outstanding Clams/allowances (excluding PT Claims) as proposed by the Govern Council should be paid immediately while Management makes arrangement to settle 100% of Time Teaching Claims on or before 4th July 2022.

4. That if by 4 thJuly, 2022, the PT Claims are not fully paid, Members shall only attend to Fall Time Classes in the 2021/2022 Academic Session
