Chaos in Bida: Alleged EFCC Operatives Storm Student Areas, Seize Phones, Laptops, and Motorcycles (Video)

Tension is high in Bida following a disturbing incident involving individuals who claimed to be operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Eyewitnesses report that these individuals forcefully entered student-populated areas, causing damage to properties and allegedly confiscating personal belongings including mobile phones, laptops, and even motorcycles.
Several students have also raised alarms over reports that some of their peers were taken away by the so-called operatives. As of now, the number of those missing remains unknown, fueling anxiety and outrage within the student community.
The aggressive nature of the raid and the lack of clear identification have sparked widespread doubts about the authenticity of the operatives. Their actions starkly contrast the professional conduct expected from trained EFCC personnel, prompting serious concerns over the legality and legitimacy of the operation.
In response to the incident, students and community members are calling on the school authorities and the government to launch an urgent investigation to verify the identity of those involved. If the perpetrators are found to be impostors, the public demands swift and decisive action to bring them to justice and restore a sense of safety for students in the area.
This incident underscores the need for greater oversight and transparency in operations involving law enforcement agencies to prevent abuse and ensure the protection of citizens’ rights.
