Armed Robbers Attack Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Male Hostel — SUG Confirms Arrest, Urges Students to Remain Calm

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has confirmed the arrest of three armed robbers who recently invaded the male hostel, leaving some students injured and sparking fear across campus.
In an official statement issued by the SUG President, Comrade Haruna Umar, the union expressed deep sadness over the incident, assuring students that discussions are ongoing with school management and security agencies to strengthen safety measures on campus.
“We are deeply saddened by the recent incident where armed robbers broke into one of our male hostels, leaving some of our colleagues injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected students, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery,” the statement read.
The SUG appealed to students to remain calm, avoid protests or any action that might trigger further unrest, and instead work together to maintain peace while the investigation continues.
In a follow-up announcement, Comrade Umar revealed that the suspects had been apprehended by security operatives and that SUG officials were in talks with the Commissioner of Police to secure the release of students arrested during a recent protest related to the incident.
“We urge everyone to remain calm and peaceful as we monitor the situation closely. We will keep the student community updated on any new developments,” the union stated.
The SUG reiterated its commitment to ensuring student safety, urging everyone on campus to watch out for one another and report suspicious activities immediately.
