Delivering the keynote presentation, the Guest Speaker, Mr. Adebayo Ojejinka, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum, Awka, emphasized that academic qualifications alone are no longer sufficient for career success. He encouraged students to develop vital soft skills such as effective communication, adaptability, critical thinking, resilience, teamwork, innovation, leadership, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Mr. Ojejinka also highlighted the growing influence of technology on the global workforce, urging students to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital transformation, entrepreneurship, remote work opportunities, and lifelong skills development to remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic employment landscape.

Throughout the interactive session, participants gained valuable insights into career planning, workplace expectations, professional ethics, and the importance of combining academic excellence with practical skills and the right attitude to improve employability.

The workshop was coordinated by the Director of the Career Service Centre, Mrs. Ekwezia Awele, who reiterated the Centre’s commitment to supporting students through career guidance, mentorship, and professional development programmes.

Speaking at the event, the Rector of Anambra State Polytechnic, Dr. Njideka Rita Chiekezie, reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to producing graduates who possess not only sound academic knowledge but also the practical skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and confidence needed for employment, innovation, and self-reliance.

Students who participated in the programme described the training as highly informative and impactful, noting that it expanded their understanding of modern career opportunities and the skills employers increasingly demand in the 21st-century workplace.

The Career Boost 2026 workshop concluded with participants expressing renewed determination to embrace continuous learning, personal development, innovation, and professional excellence as they prepare for successful careers in an evolving global economy.
