Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Calls on Graduates to Collect Unclaimed Certificates Dating Back to 1995

Ikot Osurua, Akwa Ibom State – The management of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua has issued a public notice regarding a significant number of unclaimed certificates lying idle in the institution’s Registry. According to the notice released by the Office of the Registrar, some of these certificates date as far back as 1995.
The Polytechnic expressed concern over what it described as an “unwholesome situation,” and has therefore urged all affected graduates—who have completed their programmes and fulfilled the necessary clearance requirements—to visit the institution for immediate collection of their certificates.
Deadline and Surcharge
In the notice signed by Mr. Godswill E. Udofah, MNIM, Acting Registrar, the institution emphasized that graduates must act promptly. Individuals who fail to collect their certificates within three (3) months from the date of the notice will be subjected to a ₦20,000 annual surcharge as a custody fee.
The management is also calling on members of the public who are in contact with any affected graduates to inform them about the ongoing certificate retrieval exercise.
