Federal Polytechnic Daura Equips Staff with Research Skills at NRF Induction Workshop



The Federal Polytechnic Daura has taken a bold step toward strengthening academic excellence and innovation by hosting a one-day induction training workshop on the National Research Fund (NRF), a flagship initiative of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
The event, held on August 14, 2025, at the School of Vocational Education, Skills and Professional Development Multi-purpose Hall, Zango Road, brought together academic staff eager to sharpen their expertise in research proposal development and access opportunities provided by the Federal Government.
The highlight of the workshop was a lecture delivered by Dr. Suleiman Zangina, Deputy Director of Research at TETFund, who is widely respected for his wealth of knowledge in developing high-quality research proposals.
Welcoming participants, the Registrar, Suleiman Saad Gwarzo, encouraged academic staff to make the most of the training, assuring them of the management’s full support in fostering a vibrant research culture within the Polytechnic community.
In his keynote remarks, the Rector, Dr. Musa Gambo K.K., FNIM, FNIMN, frpa, applauded the initiative and stressed the importance of leveraging the NRF to position the institution as a hub of innovation. He commended Dr. Zangina for traveling from Abuja to share his expertise and urged staff to thoroughly study the NRF curriculum in order to boost the Polytechnic’s chances of winning the prestigious NRF Award in 2025.
Dr. Gambo further emphasized that the Polytechnic remains committed to promoting groundbreaking research, innovation, and the fabrication of tools and technologies that can compete globally in the 21st century.
The workshop concluded successfully, leaving participants equipped with fresh insights and strategies to elevate research output, not just within the institution but across the academic community at large.
