NERC Donates 20 Solar Street Lights to Federal Polytechnic Bauchi

The National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has donated 20 solar-powered street lights to the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi as part of efforts to enhance security and lighting on campus.
The donation was made possible through the intervention of the Chairman, Governing Council of the Polytechnic, Surv. Mohammed Nadu Yahaya, who worked with the Committee of Chairmen of Governing Councils of Federal Polytechnics across Nigeria to secure the project.
During the handover ceremony, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Sani Usman, received the items on behalf of the institution, alongside the Deputy Rector, Dr. Dalhatu Sa’idu Abubakar, and other members of the management team. He expressed deep appreciation to NERC for the gesture, describing it as a timely contribution that would improve campus safety and support students’ night activities.
Following the donation, the Rector directed the Director of Physical Planning, Arc. Abubakar Chadi, to oversee the proper installation of the street lights at strategic points across the Polytechnic premises.
The new solar-powered lights are expected to reduce electricity costs while providing sustainable illumination for the institution.
