IMAP Management Engages Striking Unions, Seeks Quick Resolution

The management of Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic (IMAP), Lafia, has appealed to the institution’s striking unions to reconsider their stance, assuring them that their demands will be addressed in due time.
In a meeting held on Monday, Acting Rector Dr. Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata, alongside other top officials, reaffirmed the government’s willingness to negotiate for an amicable resolution.
The discussions brought together the leadership of the three striking unions—the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP), and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU)—as all parties explored possible ways to end the ongoing industrial action.
With academic activities at a standstill, the management’s plea for more time signals a potential breakthrough, but whether the unions will soften their stance remains to be seen.
