The pioneer executive committee of the first alumni set of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has paid a courtesy visit to their alma mater as part of preparations for their maiden reunion program scheduled for November this year.
Led by the President, Mr. Funsho Babarinde, the delegation toured the campus on Thursday, revisiting the old administrative buildings and lecture halls they once used 30 years ago. The nostalgic trip brought back memories for the alumni, who commended the transformation that has taken place within the institution.
During the visit, the executives were warmly received by the Rector, Alhaji Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi. Also present were Mr. Joseph Adebayo Fadeji, Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocol; Mrs. Grace Abosede Adeniran, Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations; and Mr. Lekan Adekunle, Director of Career Services.
The alumni executives applauded the efforts of past and present management in improving facilities and academic structures, describing the changes as a remarkable turnaround. In his remarks, Mr. Babarinde pledged the association’s commitment to supporting the polytechnic’s drive toward becoming a world-class center for learning and research.
Other members of the tour team included Mr. Oladapo Dada, Chief Financial Officer; Pastor Oguntunde Boladale, Welfare Officer; Mr. Debo Osobu, Assistant General Secretary; and Mr. Olukayode Ayinde, Public Relations Officer.
The courtesy visit marks a major highlight in the build-up to the first-ever reunion of the alumni set, which promises to further strengthen ties between the institution and its graduates.
