FLOOD: Gombe Poly Rector Inspects Female Hostel

The Rector Dr Abbas Umar Faruk inspected the flooded female hostel and other areas within Sangaru Campus on Monday 1st August, 2022. The flood was as a result of a heavy rain which lasted for hours.
During the site inspection, the Rector observed the extent of damages caused by the flood and assured students that necessary action would be taken with immediate effect to avoid similar occurrence of the incident in the future. He also directed Works and Maintenance Service Department to clear blockages in all the drainages in the school.
In this year, flooding is a wide spread incident across the country as was predicted by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) the body responsible for accurate reporting of weather and climate information.
More so, Gombe State Polytechnic, Bajoga got an intervention from the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) through the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC)
The overseeing company of the project (Telequip and Digital Limited) has completed the deployment of the Campus Area Network Connectivity and the Polytechnic community have started enjoying its services.
The project will allow staff and students free access to Area Network and Internet service.
A development which will help immensely for teaching and learning process to be achieved with relative ease as lecturers and students can access internet service at the comfort of their offices, classrooms and hostel.
