Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has officially moved to introduce eight newly approved Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. This development follows recent approval by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), granting the institution the go-ahead to expand its academic offerings.
In a formal request dated May 12, 2025, the Deputy Registrar (Admissions) urged the college management to approve the immediate advertisement of the new programmes on the school’s website from May 13 to May 20, 2025. The request, channeled through the Deputy Rector (Academics), seeks to enable prospective candidates to begin their application process promptly.
Here are the eight newly approved HND programmes:
- HND Marine Engineering Technology
- HND Mechatronics Engineering Technology
- HND Welding and Fabrication Engineering
- HND Strategic Communication and Media Studies
- HND Public Administration
- HND Polymer Technology

According to the statement, advertising these programmes will create awareness and give interested candidates a chance to apply for their programme of choice. A photocopy of the NBTE approval was also included in the request to the Rector.
Signed by Mrs. A.T. Oke, the request is currently awaiting final approval from the Rector’s office.
Prospective students are advised to keep an eye on the YABATECH official website for further updates and application instructions.
