Sequel to the demonstration which was embarked on by the students of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, yesterday afternoon, and at the early hours of today, 13th and 14th of October, respectively, led by the Students’ Union President, Comr. Hussein Akeem Adewale, the Governing Council and Management of the Institution have both decided to make peace with the students with a view to resolve the major issues that led to the subsequent demonstrations.
The demonstration which caused the lockdown of all entrances to the school started very early this morning but later on led to a dialogue session with the Governing Council and Management of the Institution, reaching compromise on major issues with the Students’ Union Representatives.
Also, the N3000, added to the tuition fees has been cancelled, as students who have paid the additional fee will be refunded in two weeks time, according to the resolution reached by the governing council and management of the institution.
