SCIT Dean Cautions OGITECH Students: No Room for Exam Misconduct

The School of Communication and Information Technology (SCIT), Department of Mass Communication at the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has issued a strong warning to students at all levels to steer clear of examination malpractices and misconduct as exams approach.
During a faculty-wide meeting held on Friday, April 4, at the Prince Dapo Abiodun Twin Lecture Theatre Hall, the Dean, Mr. Olatunji Ajobiewe, addressed students—including those in Film and Multimedia Productions HND 1—emphasizing the importance of academic integrity. He reminded students that examinations are essential tools to assess knowledge, and any breach of exam rules would be dealt with seriously.
He also highlighted the weight of Continuous Assessment (CA), which includes attendance, tests, assignments, and practicals, stressing that students who fail to meet these standards may not have their exam results processed. Final-year students preparing for their exams on Monday, April 7, and newly admitted students writing mid-April were urged to comply with all academic and examination requirements.
Mr. Ajobiewe also noted changes to OGITECH’s exam system, including email notifications for seat numbers and hall assignments. He warned that only students who have completed payment processes on the portal will be granted access to their exam passes.
In a further advisory, students were told to avoid bringing prohibited items such as phones and wristwatches into the exam halls and to be vigilant of their surroundings to prevent misunderstandings with invigilators.
The President of AMACOS, Comr. Marvellous David, thanked the Dean and faculty for their ongoing support and echoed the importance of following the rules to avoid sanctions that could end students’ academic careers.
