OSPOLY Hands Over Site for 1,500-Capacity Lecture Theatre to Alumni as OSPAA Prepares for AGM
In a major milestone for campus development, the management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY) has formally handed over the construction site of a proposed 1,500-capacity lecture theatre to the Osun State Polytechnic Iree Alumni Association (OSPAA). The move comes just as the association prepares to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 26.

The handing-over ceremony was led by the institution’s Rector, Alhaji Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, who was accompanied by top management staff including the Deputy Rector, Registrar, Bursar, and Director of Works. Addressing the gathering, the Rector emphasized the institution’s unwavering commitment to partnering with the alumni body to drive developmental and infrastructural progress.
He commended the leadership of the OSPAA National President, Alhaji Yakub Akeem Adebayo, for his visionary initiatives and for mobilizing the alumni community toward a stronger, more united network. Alabi praised Adebayo’s dedication to projects that not only enhance the physical structure of the school but also rebuild the intellectual and emotional connection among graduates.
The Rector also noted that the project was unanimously approved by the institution’s Governing Council, chaired by Hon. Diran Ayanbeku, marking it as a top-priority initiative in OSPOLY’s developmental agenda.
In his remarks, OSPAA National President Alhaji Yakub Akeem Adebayo expressed heartfelt appreciation to the school management for approving the alumni’s request to lead the construction of the theatre and initiate a facelift for the school’s entrance gate. He reaffirmed the alumni’s commitment to unity, progress, and contributing meaningfully to both infrastructural and human development.
Adebayo made a passionate call to all past graduates of Osun State Polytechnic Iree to rally behind the project and participate actively in rebuilding and repositioning their alma mater. He also revealed plans to mark OSPAA’s 31st anniversary in November 2025, with preparations already underway and committees set to be announced soon.
The President concluded by appealing to all alumni members to set aside personal interests, embrace unity, and work together to build a stronger association for the benefit of current and future generations.
The event marks another historic step in strengthening alumni-institution collaboration for long-term impact.
