Seyi Makinde, FNSE, we are better prepared than before. Having said that, I want to thank God Almighty for making the various journeys embarked upon by our august visitors here today a success.”
“We are here today because we want to start an academic exercise which required that our visitor leave their various destinations to converge on this place. In some situation, events like this are overridden by some unforeseen circumstances. In this case, I believe strongly that this program is already concluded successfully, and I believe this will be our portion at the end of this exercise.”
The Governing Council Chairman, Prof. Abiodun Ojo acknowledged the significance of accreditation exercise in every higher Institution of learning. He appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State for his undying love for education and support for the Institution.
“It’s a known fact that accreditation is very essential in tertiary Institutions. That’s why I’m glad to be here today. This is my first time of active involvement in an accreditation exercise in a polytechnic. I am well conversant with that of Colleges of education and Universities and my involvement has been a productive one. I came into this institution in less than 10 months and I can tell you authoritatively that the management team, entire staff and students of this Institution don’t take corrections for granted and that’s the quality of good leadership.
While responding to the opening speech and remarks, the NBTE team leader, Dr. Engr. E.I.E Onyeocha, appreciated the hospitality accorded the team. He assured the Institution of the team’s readiness to assist it in its quest to producing products that can meet up with graduates from other Institutions.
“This exercise is known as a review exercise. We are not here to fight one another. Rather, we are here to help you look at your programs, and my belief is that, our team will perform excellently. I welcome all our resource persons from reputable Institutions across the length and breadth of Nigeria, and I urge you all to help the institution to know the local and indigenous alternatives to the existing problem. Remember that no one is permited to operate beyond the guiding principles of NBTE. Also, we have to look toward building an Institution that we can be proud of.”
The NBTE South West Zonal Director, Mr. Ayo Aroge laid more emphasis on the significance of skill acquisition in the development of a nation.
“Our activities here center on students welfarism. I urge the institution to include the participation of students in this exercise because they are the future of our nation. What can develop a nation is skill and not degree. The developed countries embrace and promote skills.”

“The Executive Secretary of NBTE has reintroduced the informal sector to be made formal. The target of NBTE now is that, any Institution without a working skill acquisition center will not be visited, we implore all Institutions to take note of it and prepare for it.
