National Institute for Sports (NIS) National Diploma (ND) Admission form for 2024/2025

Applications are hereby requested from suitably qualified candidates in Nigeria and other English speaking countries for professional courses in sports coaching and sports management.

NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

1) National Diploma (ND) in Sports Coaching and Training-2 Years

2) National Diploma (ND) in Sports Management – 2 Years

Entry Requirements:

JAMB score and Five (5) O’Level credit passes at one (1) sitting to include English Language, Mathematics, one(1) Science subject (Biology/Health Science/Health Education/Physical Education) and any two (2) other subjects OR six (6) O’level Credit passes at two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, one(1) Science subject (Biology/Health Science/Health Education/Physical Education) and any other three(3) subject

A) BASIC COACHING CERTIFICATE COURSE-3 months (Oct-Dec 2024-Lagos & Abuja)

CHOICE OF SPORTS:

Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Chess, Cycling, Dart, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Karate, Powerlifting, Scrabble, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo Traditional Sports, Volleyball, Weightlifting and Wrestling, Fencing, Arm Wrestling,Golf, and Roller Sports.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: 

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 O/L credits/merits or its equivalent with at least a pass in English language. B) BASIC FITNESS CERTIFICATE COURSE-3 months (Oct-Dec 2024-Lagos & Abuja)

Entry Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of 3 O/L credits/merits including physical education/Health Education/Health Science or any other science subject or its equivalent with at least a pass in English language.

C) BASIC GROUNDSMANSHIP CERTIFICATE COURSE-3 months (Oct-Dec 2024-Lagos & Abuja)

Entry Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of 3 O/L credits/merits or its equivalent with at least one in Technical Drawing, Physical Education, Health Education, Agriculture, Geography, Physics, Mathematics with a pass in English Language.

D) ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN COACHING-1 YEAR (Lagos, Jan. Sep. 2025)

E) ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN FITNESS-1 YEAR (Lagos, Jan. Sep. 2025)

Entry Requirements: SSCE/G.G.E Ordinary Level with minimum of five credits in relevant subjects with at least a pass in English and Mathematics. ii. Candidate with NIS Basic Certificate Course

F) PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE IN SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY AND COACHING-1 YEAR/2YEARS (Lagos, Jan. – Sep. 2025)

Entry Requirements:

i NIS Higher Diploma Coaching/Sports Management OR Degree in Physical and Health Education, Physical Education, Health Education and Psychology (I year Duration)

NCE, HND or Degree in any discipline from any recognized Institution or other qualification with significant years of experience the academic board may deem sufficient

G) PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE IN SPORTS MANAGEMENT – 1 YEAR (Lagos, Jan. Sep. 2025)

Sports Business and Personnel Management, Sports Administration Sports Marketing, Sports Journalism

Entry Requirements:

 NIS Higher Diploma Coaching/Sports Management OR Degree in Physical and Health Education, Physical Education, Health Education or Management related degrees

NCE, HND or Degree in any discipline from any recognized Institution or other qualification with significant years of experience the academic board may deem sufficient

H) PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE IN FITNESS -1 YEAR (Lagos, Jan. Sep. 2025)

Entry Requirements: LNIS Higher Diploma Coaching/Sports Management, Degree in Physical and Health Education, Physical Education, Health Education Physiotherapy, Biological Sciences, Anatomy, Physiology or any other medical/health related courses.

NCE, HND or Degree in any discipline from any recognized Institution or other qualification with significant years of experience the academic board may deem sufficient
