NAPS Gives Update on Eligibility of Polytechnic Part-Time Graduates for NYSC Program

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has provided an update regarding the eligibility of polytechnic part-time graduates for the NYSC program.
According to a statement obtained from NAPS’ Director of Media and Publicity, Comrade Oropo, the union urged the affected students to accept their fate, as there is no solution other than to accept the “NYSC exclusion letter.”
POLYTV had earlier reported that JAMB stopped the mobilization of HND full-time graduates with ND part-time backgrounds for the NYSC program—a policy that prevents many polytechnic students from participating in the scheme.
Comrade Oropo urged polytechnic part-time students affected by the policy to accept their exemption letters and move on.
He said, “I know the news hit hard—denied NYSC, but granted an exemption letter. You may feel disappointed, frustrated, or undervalued. But remember, YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY ONE PROGRAM. Your worth, potential, and strength go far beyond NYSC. You’ve already achieved so much: overcoming challenges, balancing responsibilities, and growing into a capable individual.”
“That exemption letter is recognition of your hard work and dedication. Hold your head high! You’re part of a community that’s faced similar setbacks and risen above. Many successful Nigerians didn’t participate in NYSC, yet they shine in their fields. Don’t compare; create your own path. Set goals, celebrate small wins, and stay focused on your future.”
“You are stronger than setbacks, braver than challenges, and brighter than obstacles. Believe in yourself, surround yourself with positivity, and keep pushing forward. Your unique journey is precious, and your resilience will carry you through. You got this!”
