NABTEB Releases 2025 NBC/NTC Results as 60% of Candidates Secure Five Credits Including Maths and English

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has officially released the results of the 2025 November/December National Business Certificate and National Technical Certificate examinations, along with the Advanced National Business Certificate and Advanced National Technical Certificate results.
The announcement was made by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr. Aminu Mohammed, at the board’s headquarters in Benin City.
According to the registrar, 60 percent of candidates who sat for the examinations obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics, a key benchmark for academic and technical certification in Nigeria.
Dr. Mohammed noted that the results were released within 64 days after the final paper, describing the timeline as evidence of the board’s commitment to transparency, integrity, and efficiency in the conduct of public examinations.
A total of 61,591 candidates registered for the examinations nationwide, comprising 57,444 ordinary level candidates and 4,147 advanced level candidates. This figure represents a 28.42 percent increase in enrolment compared to the previous year.
The examinations were conducted across 2,079 centres nationwide, reflecting a 13.92 percent increase in the number of centres, an indication of growing confidence in technical and vocational examinations across Nigeria.
Performance analysis across trade categories showed strong outcomes in technical fields. Construction Trades recorded a pass rate of 79.32 percent, Engineering Trades 76.84 percent, and Miscellaneous Trades 77 percent. Business Trades recorded 52.07 percent.
Overall certification data revealed that 57.32 percent of candidates were certified as craftsmen, while 56.52 percent qualified as master craftsmen.
Further breakdown showed that 54,009 candidates, representing 94.74 percent, obtained five credits or more, including English Language and Mathematics.
On examination malpractice, the registrar disclosed that 259 candidates, representing 0.42 percent, were involved in infractions. This figure shows a decline from the 0.53 percent recorded in 2024, which he attributed to improved monitoring systems and collaboration with security agencies.
Dr. Mohammed reaffirmed NABTEB’s commitment to advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Nigeria through digital innovation and partnerships with key stakeholders.
He stated that the board’s objective is to equip Nigerian youths with practical, job-ready skills that position the country as a hub for skilled manpower in line with national development goals.
Candidates have been advised to check their results on the official NABTEB results portal, while registration for the 2026 in-school NBC/NTC examinations has already commenced.
