NABTEB NCEE Registration 2026 Begins January 26 See Deadline Exam Date and How to Apply

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has extended the registration period for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination into Technical Colleges, providing candidates and families with a longer window to complete the process without pressure.
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr Aminu Mohammed, disclosed this in an official statement issued in Benin, noting that the board has approved a four-month registration period to make the process more convenient and accessible for all stakeholders.
According to the board, registration for the 2026 NCEE will commence on January 26 and close on May 24, while the examination is scheduled to hold nationwide on June 6. The registrar explained that the extended timeline follows the approval of the 2026 examination and registration framework by the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa.
He described the decision as a deliberate policy aimed at reducing congestion on the registration portal, easing financial and logistical burdens on parents and guardians, and allowing candidates adequate time to prepare.
Dr Mohammed also stated that NABTEB has upgraded its administrative and technological systems to ensure a smooth, user-friendly and disruption-free registration experience. He assured candidates, parents and schools that the board remains committed to maintaining high standards of examination integrity throughout the process.
Prospective candidates were advised to complete their registration strictly through the official NABTEB online portal. The registrar warned against the use of unauthorised agents or third-party platforms, stressing that all applications must be processed directly through the board’s approved system.
He encouraged candidates and guardians to register early to avoid last-minute challenges that often occur close to deadlines.
Reaffirming NABTEB’s commitment to transparency and professionalism, the registrar said the board remains focused on expanding access to technical education while safeguarding the credibility of its examinations.
Dr Mohammed further urged Nigerians to take advantage of opportunities provided by Technical and Vocational Education and Training, describing it as a pathway to practical skills, entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance. He noted that skills-based education remains vital to Nigeria’s human capital development and national growth.
The board, he added, will continue to collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Education and other key stakeholders to strengthen technical education and promote skill acquisition across the country.
