Meet Samara Ejekam: 19-Year-Old Scores 333 in UTME Resit After Initial Setback

Samara Ejekam, a 19-year-old former student of Edgewood College in Lekki, Lagos, made headlines after scoring 333 out of 400 in the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Her success came after a disappointing first attempt, where she scored just 167, a result she described as both “traumatising and disappointing.”
Determined not to give up, Samara restructured her study plan, dedicated herself to covering the syllabus, practiced with past questions, and stayed motivated. Her preparation also included mock exams at Teesas, which helped her identify and improve on weak areas.
Samara now plans to study Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Pan-Atlantic University, with a goal of using her skills to contribute to technological advancement and inspire other young girls to pursue their dreams without fear. She credits her family, especially her parents, as her greatest support system and mentors.
