The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi started skeletal work in May 1979.  However, academic activities actually took off on 22nd November 1979 with an initial student population of 245 registered in eleven departments. The Polytechnic started with initial staff strength of 138 comprising 45 and 93 senior and junior staff respectively. The vision and mission of the school is to train students to become professionally skillful morally sound enterprising and committed to the development and to contribute optimally to the technological development of Nigeria through training of human resources in the application of science, engineering and commerce. The polytechnic is located Off Dass Road. Gwallameji Village,Bauchi-Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi, Bauchi state.The Federal polytechnic Bauchi offers National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) courses. The polytechnic is one of the best and most affordable polytechnics in Nigeria.Federal polytechnic Bauchi does not accept awaiting results and Pass in English language subjects. Applicants seeking admission to the polytechnic must have obtained a minimum of 5 credits in relevant subjects; English and mathematics are compulsory for all courses. The school fees being paid by students varies by department and faculty depending on your chosen programme.
