The Delta State School of Marine Technology, Burutu, is an institution with multi-campuses at Gbaregolor and Kwale. The institution has been accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to run courses leading to the Award of National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND).

The mission of the institution is to promote competence, expertise and enterprise in Marine Science, Engineering and Technology through the instrumentality of high quality training, purposeful research, high profile career-driven capacity building and pragmatic consultancy services for the maritime and allied industries/commerce in particular and for the peaceful and sustainable development of the Niger Delta region and the entire globe in general.

Delta State School of Marine Technology operates on three(3) campuses: Burutu campus, Gbaregolor Campus, Utagba Ogbe campus. The institution offers ND and HND programmes.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NATIONAL DIPLOMA ( ND)

SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB/NBC Ordinary level or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects relevant to the course obtained at not more than two (2) sittings.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND)

Must satisfy all requirements for admission into the ND programs.

Possess a National Diploma from Delta State School of Marine Technology or from a recognized institution. CGPA should not be less than 2.50 (lower credit).

Evidence of completion of compulsory industrial training from organizations/firms or evidence of one year WORK EXPERIENCE.

In exceptional cases, CGPA of 2.00-2.49 in the National Diploma may be accepted. Such candidates are expected to undergo a one year pre-HND programme to improve themselves.

Candidates for the Higher National Diploma programmes must present an academic transcript in respect of the National Diploma obtained. The transcript should be forwarded confidentially to the Registrar DESOMATECH.
