Imo State Polytechnic is a higher education institute in Imo State, Nigeria. It was established in 1978 as the Michael Okpara College of Agriculture, Umuagwo and was upgraded to a Polytechnic status, renamed as the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo in 2007.
The institution provides courses, training and research in all branches of Agriculture, Management Sciences, Engineering and Food Sciences. The polytechnic is certified to award National Diploma and Higher National Diploma qualifications.
The Imo State Polytechnic has been redesigned as a multi-campus institution with different campuses hosting different schools. Below is a list of all available courses in the polytechnic and their respective locations.

SHORT COURSES
Imo State polytechnic offers short courses in different areas of endeavor. These courses are designed to boost the professional knowledge of both students and staff of the polytechnic. Such short courses include:

IMO POLY PROGRAMMES.
IMO state polytechnic runs three(3) programs which are The full-time(Regular), Evening and Weekend programmes.
REGULAR PROGRAMME.
This is a full-time program for students admitted through jamb. The regular program is the backbone of all the programs offered at the polytechnic. It incorporates all the courses in the polytechnic. To qualify for the regular program, a student must possess five O’Level credits including English and mathematics in the relevant fields in not more than two sittings.
The regular program is designed for students who want to pursue intensive learning in their various areas of interest. Students who are admitted into the regular program are allowed access to the school facilities and lecture halls between 8:00am and 3:00pm.
EVENING PROGRAMME.
The evening program offered by the polytechnic is an extension of the regular program. This program is designed to accommodate all the students who for one reason or the other could not be able to pursue their academics during the early hours of the day.
The program runs from 3:00pm to 6:00pm Mondays through Fridays. Evening students after their graduation are allowed to undergo the one year compulsory national youth service corps (NYSC). Admission into the evening program is strictly based on merit and students seeking admission into the program are expected to possess five O’level credits in not more than two sittings which must include English language and mathematics.
WEEKEND PROGRAMME.
The weekend program was introduced by the polytechnic to accommodate the working-class group who for one reason or the other could not enroll for the either the regular or evening programs. The weekend program takes effect from on Mondays and Sundays of every week. At the moment, weekend program students are not allowed to go for the mandatory one-year National Youth Service (NYSC).
IMO POLY CAMPUSES AND ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES.
IMO state polytechnic operates on 4 campuses: The Mbano campus, Orlu campus, Omuma Campus and Ikeduru campus. Each campuses host different schools/faculties.
1. Students in the school of Science Technology receive lectures and their academic activities at the Omuma campus.
2. Students in the school of Business studies receive lectures and other academic activities at the m Mbano campus.
3. Students in the school of Engineering receive lectures and other academic activities at the Orlu campus.
3. Students in the school of Agricultural Technology receive lectures at the Ikeduru campus.
4. Students in the school of Environmental Technology technology receive lectures and other academic activities at the Orlu campus.
5. All administrative departments and units are at the Omuma campus.
