IMT Enugu Departments Go Digital: Council of PROs Launches Social Media Drive to Showcase Campus Excellence

The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, is taking bold steps to amplify its visibility and strengthen communication as the Council of Department PROs met with the Deputy Rector, Dr. Emeka Ejim, on Wednesday, August 21.

At the meeting, departmental representatives were directed to create official social media accounts on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), and TikTok. These pages will serve as verified publicity outlets for each department, showcasing achievements, events, and innovations across the Institute.

Also present at the strategic session were the ICT/NELFund Officer and the Chairman of Academic Planning, who stressed the importance of digital engagement in projecting the image of the “New IMT.” The NELFund Officer also briefed the gathering on the Federal Government’s NELFund program, designed to provide support for students.

In addition, participants were informed of a training session scheduled for next Wednesday. The training will focus on navigating the school’s website, maximizing the student portal, and mastering the newly introduced College-Port system for payment analysis. All departmental PROs are mandated to attend in order to guide their colleagues effectively.

Speaking after the meeting, Comrade Chukwuma Henry A., SUG Minister for Information, Orientation and Media, expressed optimism about the initiative. He noted that the skills and knowledge to be gained will empower PROs to create impactful content that highlights the strengths of IMT while ensuring students benefit from timely and reliable information.

“The New IMT is possible, and we are proud to be part of the team driving this transformation,” he stated.
