Historic Moment as NACOSS Holds First-Ever Elections at Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas

The Department of Computer Science at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas (FPOG) witnessed a groundbreaking moment on Monday, August 18, 2025, as the National Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS) held its maiden departmental elections to usher in a new era of student leadership.
The well-structured election process featured nominations, campaigning, and manifesto presentations, allowing candidates to share their vision for a stronger and more vibrant department. Contestants emphasized the importance of computer science in today’s digital-driven society, stressing that information and communication technology (ICT) places their discipline at the center of global innovation.
After a transparent voting exercise, winners emerged to occupy various leadership positions for the 2025/2026 academic session.

General Secretary: Banigo Desmond Dagogo
Financial Secretary/Treasurer: Wudee Elvis Bainyirasi
Public Relations Officer (P.R.O): Dickson Joseph
Director of Socials: Koroma Samuel
Assistant Director of Socials: Irimagha Miriam Nelson
Director of Sports: Pepple Precious Emmanuel
Assistant Director of Sports: Akubue Victor Chisom
Director of Welfare: Hassan Abdul-Raheem
The newly elected executives pledged to represent the interests of their colleagues, strengthen departmental unity, and promote academic and social development.
The Department congratulated the winners and expressed optimism that their tenure would bring impactful leadership and innovative ideas that will position the Computer Science students for greater opportunities.
