FESSU Suspends National President, Appoints Vice President as Acting Leader

The Federation of Ekiti State Students’ Union (FESSU) National House of Senate has suspended its National President, Comrade Benjamin Adekunle Onileowo, over allegations of gross misconduct, negligence of duty, and failure to provide financial accountability.
The suspension was announced in a statement signed by the Senate President, Sen. Oladipupo Oluwasegun, Senate Clerk, Sen. Oluwapelumi Olaofe, and House Leader, Sen. Fashoyin Taiwo Ademuyiwa.
According to the statement, the decision was taken to ensure the continuous and effective administration of the union. The Senate invoked the FESSU National Constitution, mandating the Vice President, National Affairs, Comrade Fatoba Adeniyi Abiodun, to assume leadership as the Acting National President.
The directive was based on Article 3, Section 4, Subsection 2, Item 3, which empowers the Vice President to act in the absence of the National President, and Item 6, which authorizes the Vice President to perform any other functions assigned by the Senate or the National Executive Council (NEC).
The Senate urged all FESSU members and the NEC to cooperate with the Acting National President to ensure stability and accountability during the transition period.
The directive takes immediate effect and will remain in force until further notice.
