Federal Polytechnic Idah Rector Commissions NAKOSS Projects, Applauds Students’ Development Initiative



The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Idah, Dr. Y. B. Usman, has commissioned several projects executed by the 2025/2026 Executive Council of the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), praising the association for its commitment to supporting the institution’s growth and development.
The commissioned projects include the donation of ten classroom podiums, whiteboards, and markers aimed at improving the teaching and learning environment within the Polytechnic.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Dean of Student Affairs, Engr. Omagu Friday, commended the NAKOSS leadership for demonstrating responsibility, commitment, and a strong sense of service through the execution of impactful projects. He encouraged the executives to remain focused on the objectives of the association while sustaining initiatives that positively impact the Polytechnic community.
While officially commissioning the projects, Dr. Usman described the intervention as a commendable display of selfless leadership and dedication to institutional development. He urged other student associations within the Polytechnic to emulate the initiative by channeling resources generated from their activities into projects that promote academic excellence and improve campus infrastructure.
The Rector emphasized that such contributions not only complement the institution’s development efforts but also inspire a culture of responsibility, collaboration, and community service among students.
In her remarks, the President of NAKOSS, Ayorinde Damilola Peace, expressed appreciation to the Rector, members of the Top Management Committee (TMC), the Dean of Student Affairs, Deans of Schools, staff, and students for their continuous support and for honoring the commissioning ceremony with their presence.
She also encouraged other student associations to undertake meaningful projects that will contribute to the progress and overall development of Federal Polytechnic Idah.
The event was attended by the Deputy Rector (Academic), the Registrar, the Polytechnic Librarian, the Dean of Student Affairs, Deans of various schools, representatives of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), members of staff, and students of Federal Polytechnic Idah.
