Federal Polytechnic Bali Concludes TETFund-Sponsored TERAS Workshop to Boost Digital Research and Academic Excellence

Federal Polytechnic Bali has successfully concluded a two-day awareness, sensitization, and capacity-building workshop on the Tertiary Education Research Application and Services (TERAS) Platform, reinforcing its commitment to digital transformation, research excellence, and efficient academic administration.

The workshop, sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), was held from July 22 to July 23, 2026, at the Rector’s Conference Hall and brought together members of staff for intensive training on the use of the digital platform.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Mohammed Usman, who was represented by the Deputy Rector, Mallam Abdulrahman Saidu, described the training as a major step toward strengthening research management and digital innovation within the institution.

He applauded TETFund for its continued investment in the digital transformation of Nigeria’s tertiary education sector, noting that the TERAS Platform will improve research management, simplify access to TETFund interventions, enhance transparency, and promote collaboration among higher institutions.

The Rector encouraged participants to make the most of the training and transfer the knowledge acquired to their respective departments and units to ensure the successful implementation of the platform across the Polytechnic.

The technical sessions were facilitated by the lead resource person, Mr. Oluwatosin Salami, who explained that the TERAS Platform is a TETFund-backed digital solution developed to support research, teaching, learning, and institutional administration.

Participants received practical training on user registration, login procedures, profile management, and the effective use of the platform for research and other academic activities. The workshop also featured technical presentations, practical demonstrations, interactive discussions, and hands-on exercises designed to build participants’ digital competence.

At the end of the programme, participants expressed appreciation to the Polytechnic Management and TETFund for organizing the workshop, describing it as timely, insightful, and valuable to their academic and professional development.

The successful completion of the workshop highlights Federal Polytechnic Bali’s dedication to leveraging technology to strengthen research capacity, improve institutional efficiency, and promote excellence in teaching, learning, and innovation.
