ESAN NATIONAL HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE: NEWLY ELECTED GENERAL SECRETARY OUTLINES VISION FOR EDUCATION STUDENTS

The newly elected General Secretary of the Education Students Association of Nigeria (ESAN) National Headquarters, Ambassador Comrade Abdulfatai Awodi, has pledged to transform the fortunes of education students across Nigeria. He made this declaration during a press conference held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the ESAN National Headquarters in Kwara State.
In his address, Ambassador Awodi expressed deep appreciation to education students nationwide for the confidence reposed in him. He described his election as a new era of transformation for education students and reaffirmed his commitment to building a strong, united, and impactful association that will serve as the voice of all education students in Nigeria.
According to him, his administration will prioritize collaboration and synergy, especially with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), to ensure that the rights and welfare of education students are adequately represented and protected.

The General Secretary also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his ongoing efforts toward improving education in Nigeria. He particularly praised the President’s student loan initiative, describing it as a game-changer that has opened doors of opportunity for countless Nigerian students.
“Your Excellency, your commitment to education is commendable,” Awodi said. “Your policies are setting a new standard for student empowerment and educational advancement in our country.”
Ambassador Awodi further highlighted some of his administration’s key priorities, which include improving student welfare, promoting academic excellence, strengthening ESAN’s institutional capacity, and making the association a more effective platform for student advocacy and participation in national development.
The press conference was attended by members of the media and various education stakeholders, who commended the new General Secretary’s vision and passion for advancing the interests of Nigerian education students.
