Ekiti State Polytechnic Honors Winners of 2024 Rector’s Cup and Staff Games
In the competitions, the Non-Academic Staff team emerged victorious in the football match within the staff category, while the Electrical Electronics Engineering Department triumphed in the students’ category.

The Sport Unit of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti, today presented awards to the winners of various categories in the just concluded 2024 Edition of the Rector’s Cup and Staff Games. The events included football, ludo, Ayo Olopon, scrabble, table tennis and draft.
The Rector, Prof. Johnson Kayode Adesodun, represented by the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Johnson Ayodeji Akerele, delivered the keynote address. Dr. Akerele commended the Sport Unit for organizing such a successful event and praised the participants for their teamwork. He encouraged both staff and students to engage regularly in sporting activities to maintain good health.
Earlier, in her welcome address, the Head of the Sport Unit, Mrs. B.C. Ogundayomi, expressed gratitude to the Polytechnic Management for their unwavering support, which was crucial to the success of the 2024 game competitions.

The award ceremony was attended by the Polytechnic Bursar, Mr. Johnson Oludayo Awe, along with various heads of departments, marking a significant celebration of sportsmanship and community spirit within the Polytechnic.
The ceremony was a celebration of athletic prowess and camaraderie, reinforcing the importance of sports within the academic community.
