COHESTI Provost Adebayo STRESSES Need FOR TRANS-GENERATIONAL Change at College Leadership Training Programme

A Leader is someone who inspires others and guide them to success. The old order traditional leaders are more conservative in terms of maintaining information, whereas the new order collaborative leaders are more open to sharing information and knowledge.
The aforestated formed the preamble of the leadership training put together for Management and Heads of Departments/Units at the Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti.
Delivering the lecture titled, “Becoming A Trans-Generational Leader”, Provost of the College, Dr. (Mrs.) Olajumoke Adebayo identified leadership failure as one of the most critical challenges bedeviling the world, adding that, the world was in need of persons that would be willing to provide godly and quality leadership.
The Provost described “trans-generational leaders” as ones whose impacts transcend their lifetimes, thus leaving behind impactful legacies for the benefit of generations coming behind them.
According to her, trans-generational leaders are accountable, proactive, humble, courageous, resilient, and would usually go the extra mile to positively impact the lives of followers.
Dr. Adebayo went further to outline strategies for trans-generational leadership to include; self-development, relationship, opportunities, communication, self-confidence and excellence, amongst others.
The trainer urged participants shun distraction, abuse of privilege, indiscipline, inverted priorities, greed and rigidity, which she described as impediments to successful leadership.


While identifying purposeful living, significance, legacy, accomplishment, reference point, strong finishing, and destiny fulfillment as benefits of becoming a good leader, Dr. Adebayo noted that, success without succession plan would usually birth failure.
The training, held at the College conference room was attended by Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, Heads of Department, Heads of Unit and Management Staff.
