ATAP: SUG President Appoints 28 Aides to Strengthen Student Representation

The President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP), Bauchi Chapter, Comrade Usman Aliyu, has approved the appointment of twenty-eight persons to serve as members of his cabinet. The move is aimed at ensuring effective representation of students across various departments and schools within the polytechnic.

The appointments were contained in a statement signed by the president on 26th May, 2025, and circulated to all schools and departments across the institution.

According to the statement, the administrative team includes Ibrahim Bello, who is to serve as Chief of Staff; Ibrahim Mukhtar, Chief Protocol; while Comrade Abubakar Muhammadu is to serve as Chief Press Secretary to the President.

In the directorate roles, Sulaiman Musa Bawa was appointed as Director of Media and Publicity; Fatima Abdurrazaq as Director of Health; and Aliyu Ahmad Jalam as Director of Ethics and Culture.

Others appointed as Special Assistants include:

Abubakar Ahmed – Special Duties

Saliha Abdul Abdullahi – Peace and Conflict Resolution

Muh’d Garba Ishaqa – Security Matters

Abdussamad Aminu – Religious Affairs (Islam)

Peter Fidelis Ugwu – Religious Affairs (Christianity)

Godiya Ibrahim ThankGod – Public Affairs

Bashir Muh’d Abubakar – Social Activities

Sporting activities were not left out as Saminu Adamu (Na Munaye) was appointed Special Assistant on Sports Development, while Ruth Dadagon was named Special Assistant on Women Affairs.

Ishaq Rabiu – Information and Technology

Aisha Baba Jibril – Academic and Research

Support staff appointments include:

Sagir Sulaiman – Principal Personal Secretary (PPS)

Ibrahim Yunusa – Media Aid I

Abdurrahman Dawaki Abubakar – Media Aid II

Christian Yakubu Rahama – Media Aid III

While congratulating the newly appointed officials, the SUG President, Comrade Usman Aliyu, urged them to make optimal use of their offices and responsibilities to justify the confidence reposed in them for the betterment of all students in the polytechnic.
