Breaking: Federal Polytechnic Oko SSANIP Commences Indefinite Strike
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian polytechnics, Federal polytechnic oko chapter has commenced an indefinite strike following the failure of the school management to address their demands.
The union President, Comrade Okeke, made this announcement on Wednesday adding that all Senior staff are to withdraw service from the institution pending when their demands would be addressed by the school management.
This is coming a week after The Academic staff Union of polytechnics (ASUP) and the Non Academic staff Union (NASU), declares a two weeks warning strike.
According to a statement obtained by POLYTV, the strike will take effect from Wednesday 20th July till further notice.

The statement reads, “Following our Institution Management failure to address SSANIP welfare/labour demand and expiration of the two (2) weeks ultimatum given to her (the Management), I am directed to inform all our members about the commencement of industrial action/strike by our union with effect from today Wednesday 20th July, 2022 pending when our union’s concerns would be satisfactorily addressed in line with the resolution of the emergency congress of today Wednesday 20th July, 2022,
“Please note that an enforcement team has been put in place to ensure total compliance by all SSANIP members to this directive as defaulters would be made to face disciplinary action in line with our union’s constitution.”
