ASUTIBS STRIKE: EXERCISE PATIENCE WITH US – GOVT BEG POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS
The leadership of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) led by the Senate President Comrade Innocent Okoh on Tuesday 10th May met with the honourable commissioner for education in Benue state over the prolonged strike by the Academic staff union of Tertiary institutions in Benue state (ASUTIBS).
The commissioner for education during the meeting beg the student leaders to exercise patience with them with the point that a meeting has been booked with the Polytechnic lecturers this week.
The Commissioner said that the state Governments has Adopt the No work no payment method, and this is not really favorable by the Striking Lectures.
NAPS Senate President while briefing students on the outcome of their meeting With the state government urge the Students of Benue state Ugbokolo, Akperan Orshi Polytechnic and other tertiary institutions in the state to be patient as victory is close and resumption is feasible anytime soon.
He said ” As we said earlier we need DATE not SOON so our plans still stand if nothing good comes out from the meeting this weekend then let’s get ready and speak the only language they understand.”
