The NNPC/Oando Joint Venture Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic session is now open for applications. This scholarship program is sponsored by NNPC Limited in partnership with Oando Energy Resources Nigeria Limited as part of their corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at promoting academic excellence and supporting higher education in Nigeria.
The scholarship provides financial support to outstanding Nigerian undergraduate students currently studying in recognized tertiary institutions across the country. It is designed to reduce the financial burden of education while encouraging students to pursue academic success in their respective fields.
Application Deadline
The deadline to submit applications for the NNPC/Oando JV Tertiary Scholarship Scheme is April 1, 2026. Interested and qualified students are encouraged to apply before the closing date.
Scholarship Categories
The scholarship scheme is divided into two main award categories.
Host/Transit Communities Merit Award
This category is strictly for applicants who are indigenes of Oando host or transit communities.
National Merit Award
This category is open to qualified Nigerian students from non-host or transit communities across the country.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify for the scholarship:
Applicants must be registered full-time undergraduate students in recognized Nigerian tertiary institutions.
Candidates must be certified 100-level students at the time of submitting their application.
Only students studying the following courses are eligible to apply for the National Merit Award:
- Engineering
- Geology
- Geosciences
- Agricultural Sciences
Applicants for the Host Communities Merit Award must be indigenes of Oando host or transit communities located in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, and Imo States.
Who Should Not Apply
The following categories of students are not eligible for the scholarship:
- Students currently in 200 level or above.
- Beneficiaries of similar scholarship awards from other companies or government agencies.
- Dependants of staff of Oando Plc and its subsidiaries.
Scholarship Selection Process
The scholarship selection process includes an online aptitude test for shortlisted applicants.
Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and are shortlisted will be contacted to participate in the aptitude test.
Applicants who score less than 50 percent in the aptitude test will not be considered for the scholarship award.
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare and upload clear scanned copies of the following documents during the application process:
Recent passport photograph with white background not older than six months (450px by 450px and not more than 200KB)
- School identification card
- O’Level certificate
- Admission letter
- Birth certificate
- Proof of Local Government Area of origin
- JAMB result
- Compliance form
Applicants applying under the Host Communities Merit Award must also provide the following additional documents:
- Letter from Community Paramount Ruler
- Letter from the Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC)
Applicants are advised to ensure that all documents are clearly scanned and properly named according to what they represent before uploading them during the application process.
