AD-CONS AND UNIMAID CONCLUDE TALKS ON AFFILIATION TO MOUNT DEGREE PROGRAMS IN NURSING SCIENCES

Aminu Dabo College of Nursing Sciences (AD-CONS) in affiliation with University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) is to mount the B.Nursing Sciences degree programs with the College serving as the satellite campus.
Prof Aliyu Yahaya, who led the 9 – member University Resource Verification Panel disclosed this during a courtesy call to the Proprietor of the College Arc Aminu Dabo in his office in Kano.
He declared that students of Aminu Dabo College of Nursing Sciences (AD-CONS), Kano who graduated successfully with diploma certificates may continue with first degree and post-graduate degree programs at the University of Maiduguri.
Prof Aliyu Yahaya said the team comprising Mr. Philips Mshelia, Prof Emmanuel Cable, Prof Dani Mamman, Prof Rebecca Gali, Dr Tukur Babayo, Dr M.B Waziri and Mal Abubakar Ibrahim was in the College to conclude the ultimate evaluation of human and material resources as well as physical facilities for the proposed program.
Prof Aliyu Yahaya said following the successful conduct of the exercise in the College coupled with a series of fruitful discussions held between the University representatives and management staff of the College, the panel was satisfied with the level of readiness of the college for the affiliation.
He commended Arc Aminu Dabo and the management of the college for taking interest in partnership and assured them of the University’s commitment to collaborate with the College to give more opportunities for the beneficiaries who are willing to enroll in the program.
“I commend the Proprietor for his contribution to the development of education not only in Kano State but the entire country. We at Unimaid would be glad to collaborate with him on uplifting standards of education in Nigeria”.
Responding, Arc Aminu Dabo, while welcoming the team members, traced the brief history of AD-CONS describing it as a fastest-growing institution with a lot of prospects and fully approved and accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Arc Dabo expressed happiness over the visit and further restated the enthusiasm of the College to work in partnership with the University, praying that the partnership between the two institutions will open up many prospects for both parties and prospective candidates willing to further their education.
The Proprietor stated that apart from putting all the necessary infrastructures equipped with modern facilities, the College also has an array of qualified and committed professional tutors for the training of diploma in Basic Nursing and Midwifery programs.
The panel members had earlier on arrival under the endurance of Mal Musa lbrahim Dakata Provost and Hajiya Halima Lawan Dambazau Registrar made an in-depth inspection of college facilities including classes, laboratories, library, ICT Lab, students hostel, basic amenities and capped-off with discussion with top management staff of the College.
