ACCREDITATION: AKWA POLY PRESENTS MORE THAN TWENTY PROGRAMMES FOR ASSESSMENT

A week-long accreditation and re-accreditation of programmess in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua begins Monday June 20, 2022.
The exercise will be carried out by the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE.
A statement from the office of the Rector, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Dr. Moses Charles Umobong and signed by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Gloria Udoudom, indicates that, several programmes will be assessed for re-accreditation whilie a number of new programmes will be scrutinized for accreditation in the polytechnic.

According to the statement, programmes to be assessed for re-accreditation include: Mass Communication, Statistics, Computer Science, Building Technology and Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning, Architectural Technology and Computer Engineering Technology.
Also marked down for re-accreditation are Surveying and Geo-Informatics, Telecommunication Technology, Instrument and Controll, Civil Engineering as well as Power and Machine Technology programmes.
The new programmes enlisted for accreditation are: Environmental Biology, Library and Information Science, Mechatronics Engineering Technology as well as Welding and Fabrication Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Paralegal Studies and Business Informatics.
The statement adds that all the programmes are both at National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels.
It enjoins staff to be at their duty post to receive the NBTE team.
