Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Postpones Matriculation ceremony, Direct Students to Vacate Campus

The management of the Federal Polytechnic has postponed the orientation programme and matriculation ceremony for the Newly admitted students of the 2022/2023 academic session till further notice.
The school further directs students to vacate the hall of residence latest by Wednesday 22nd February 2023 adding that a new date for the continuation of academic activities would be communicated soon.
This directive was contained in a circular dated 13th February 2023 which in part reads:
“The Management has carefully studied the directive of the Honourable Minister of Education through the Executive Secretary, NBTE, Prof. Bugaje. The security concerns raised are genuine. The Management also holds dear the security of both staff and students of our dear Institution….
“Consequently, the Rector is constrained on behalf of the Academic Board to postpone the Orientation Programme and Matriculation Ceremony already planned for the 21st and 22nd of February, 2023 respectively. Please note that new resumption dates to start Lectures, Organize Orientation, and Matriculation for students will be communicated in due course.”
“Meanwhile, as stated in the circular, all academic activities are to be suspended from Wednesday, 22nd February, 2023 to 14th March, 2023.”
“Students are to vacate their hostels unfailingly on Wednesday, 22nd February, 2023.”
The circular added “Part-Time and Full-Time students (i.e. ND 1, PT 1, ND 2, PT 2, HND 1 and 2) must complete their registration at the time earlier agreed upon unfailingly online.”
