Federal College of Animal Health & Production Technology, Ibadan formerly The School of Animal Health and Husbandry (as it was then referred to) was founded on the 1st of April, 1964 (by the defunct Western Region and USAID) to meet the need to train Livestock Assistants (certificate) in order to cope with the ever-increasing demand for assistance in the practise of veterinary profession.
The School became an integral part of the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (I.A.R. &T) of the ObafemiAwolowo University, Ile-Ife by the Western State Edict of 1970.
The Mission of the College is to contribute to the development of Nigeria through training of qualitative manpower by adequate exposure to sound theoretical background, practical, farm and field demonstration as well as knowledge capacity development for staff.
