Ekiti poly chair seeks expansion of ND, HND programmes

The Governing Council Chairman, Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti, Prof. Adedayo Fasakin, has urged the management of the institution, led by the Rector, Dr Sunday Ajeigbe, to prioritise expansion of the academic programmes of the institution.
EKSPOLY Head, Public Relations Unit, Martins Olowoyo, said in a statement made available in Ado Ekiti on Saturday that Fasakin gave the charge to the new rector, who was recently inaugurated as the second substantive rector of the institution.
Fasakin, who highlighted the institution’s potential for growth, expressed confidence in Ajeigbe’s leadership to propel the polytechnic to new levels of excellence.
The council chair charged the new rector “to prioritise the expansion of academic programmes in the institution at the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels.”
Ajeigbe, who immediately after inauguration, was conducted around the institution to inspect various ongoing projects, promised “to work diligently towards achieving greater success for the institution”.
The rector said, “My administration will focus on enhancing academic standards, improving infrastructure, and fostering an environment conducive to learning and research.”
He pledged to build on the solid foundation laid by his predecessor, Prof. Kayode Adesodun, to bring about significant advancements in both the academic and administrative spheres of the institution.
Ajeigbe expressed satisfaction with the progress of several Tertiary Education Trust Fund and state government intervention projects, which he said were contributing significantly to the institution’s infrastructure development.
He commended the quality of work and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to fostering academic excellence through improved facilities.
Ongoing projects inspected by the new rector included the Research and Innovation Centre, the Skill Acquisition Development Centre, and the new Library, all of which are nearing completion.
He said that the projects, when completed would boost research, skill acquisition and learning resources for students and faculty members alike.
