Family Flags Off Moronfoye Foundation In Offa Poly, Awards Best Graduating Students

Two final years best graduating students of the Department of Quantity Surveying, Surveyor Azeez Alirat Boluwatife and Surveyor Hamzat Suliat Oluwawemimo have bagged cash award from the Moronfoye Foundation in memory of the pioneer Head of Department (2000-2008), late QS. Sikiru Moronfoye.
The Foundation was flagged off recently at the Department of Quantity Surveying, Main Campus.
Speaking at the event, the team leader of Moronfoye Foundation, Mr. Mufutau Moronfoye expressed a heartfelt sympathy towards the demise of his late brother, QS. Sikiru Moronfoye who died 2 years ago. He stated that he was the breadwinner of the family who touched many lives before his departure.
According to him, “The family considers it necessary to further the good acts of the deceased. We have decided to make it an annual thing. To always present awards to the best final year students, ND ll and HND ll of the Quantity Surveying Department where our brother had worked in order to serve as a remembrance and prayer for him.”
He commended the Management led by Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE and the Department for embracing the family’s ideas. He also admonished people present at the event to live a simple life without grudges. He added that death is inevitable and everyone will pay the price.
Also speaking , the Dean, School of Environmental Studies, Dr. Adamu Mudi appreciated Moronfoye’s Family for bringing the programme to the department. He added that the deceased was a committed and dedicated staff whose impact remains indelible. Dr. Mudi therefore charges staff, students and other guests to live a worthy life.
Also speaking, the Head of Department of Quantity Surveying, QS. Dr. Shogo Adeniyi applauded the Foundation for honouring the department by awarding their students. He stated that, it is the first of its kind in the history of the Polytechnic.
In addition, Dr. Shogo admonished other students of the department to learn from the event and work towards being a beneficiary of the Moronfoye scheme and other opportunities in the nearest future.


Responding on behalf of the awardees, Surveyor Hamzat Suliat Oluwawemimo thanked Moronfoye Foundation for the award given to her and her colleague. She prayed to God to continue to be pleased with the deceased soul and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
Present at the event were; the Director, Academic Planning Unit, Dr. Arowosegbe; Mrs. T. F. Obalola among others.
