KwaraPoly SUG Speak on Sudden Increase in Transportation price
The student union government of Kwara state polytechnic, Ilorin, has finally spoken on the hike in transportation prices in the polytechnic after their meeting with commercial drivers.
In a Press statement released on Monday, the SUG confirmed to POLYTV that Adjustment has been made on the price of transportation.
The statement which in part reads,
“The students union representatives, the students union transport committee and the Management committee on Transportation earlier today met with the Transport sector (Bus Chairman) to come to a considerable resolution over the issue of hike in transport prices.
“Nonetheless, there has been complaint nationwide due to the situation of the economy and this has brought to the hike in prices.
“However, there have been several changes and there has been a correlation control to the price of fuel.
“The students union representatives understand that all hands are not equal. On this note the meeting yielded change and the students’ concern had been passed to the concerned authorities.”
The new regularized prices of transportation is therefore stated as follows:
- Yakuba – #60
- Sango – #90
- Oke-Ose – #60
- Post office – (By car #120) and (By Bus #110)
The union while urging students to abide with the laid down rules added that There is yet to be a regularized price for the price for “OJa”
