YABATECH SUG Advises Students Against Paying ₦10,000 Late Registration Fee

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has urged students who defaulted on registration to refrain from paying the ₦10,000 late registration fee recently imposed by the school management.
In a statement made available to POLYTV, the SUG president, Comrade Adeyemi Bello, confirmed that the union is actively engaging with the college’s management to address the issue and seek a more student-friendly resolution.
“The Students’ Union wishes to inform all students that we are currently engaging with the university management to address the concerns surrounding the late payment charges for school fees,” the statement read.
The SUG emphasized that students should not pay the late registration fee at this time. “In light of this ongoing intervention, we kindly advise all students to refrain from paying the late payment charges of ₦10,000 until further notice. We are working diligently to request a more favorable and affordable option for our students.”
The union expressed gratitude for the patience and cooperation of the student body, promising to keep them updated on any progress made during discussions with the management.
“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. We will provide updates on any developments and will inform you as soon as a resolution is reached,” Comrade Bello assured.
The SUG’s intervention highlights its commitment to advocating for the welfare of students and ensuring that education remains accessible amidst financial challenges.
