Unilorin 39th convocation: Realtor gifts plots of land to overall, MassComm best graduates

The founder and managing director of Kenkid Land and Contracts, Ayoola Kehinde, has gifted a plot of land each to the University of Ilorin’s (UNILORIN) 2022/2023 academic session overall best-graduating student, Akinsanya Ayodeji, and the best-graduating student from the Department of Mass Communication, Adam Mosadioluwa.
The scholars were given the plots in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements at the recently concluded 39th convocation of UNILORIN.
The plots, each measuring 153 square metres, are situated in the New York City Estate, Oke-Oyi – a developing estate in the Ilorin-East Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Akinsanya Ayodeji, a graduate of the Department of Mathematics, finished with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.97/5.00, while Adam Mosadioluwa from the Department of Mass Communication topped his class with a CGPA of 4.39/5.00.

Speaking at the property documentation ceremony on Saturday, Mr Kehinde explained that the decision to reward the scholars with land was driven by a desire to promote academic excellence.
He said, “We are known for excellent services, and in line with that, we don’t hesitate to celebrate excellence. This is why we decided to honour UNILORIN’s overall best-graduating student and the best-graduating student from the Department of Mass Communication.
“In today’s world, people tend to glorify those involved in immoral activities and neglect those who excel academically. Here at Kenkid Land and Contracts, we celebrate excellence whenever we see it. Most of our staff are alumni of the University of Ilorin and the Department of Mass Communication in particular, so we understand the dedication required to achieve such feats.”
In their remarks, the scholars thanked the real estate company for the land gifts, acknowledging the gesture as a valuable recognition of their hard work.
They also encouraged the company to make the initiative an annual tradition, noting that it would inspire students in higher institutions to strive for academic excellence, knowing that hard work pays off.
