School Fee Was Increased Due to High Cost of Things in the Country – FPI SUG

The Students union of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro has said that the increment in school fees for the 2022/2023 session is due to the high cost of things in the country.
The students body is knocking NAPS for releasing a press without their consent.
The student union affirmed that they already met with the school management and hope for positive feedback soon as regard to the school fee increment.
“We expected NAPS to get the latest update from the Students’ Union of FPI and steps we were taking before making any press release. To this end, the Students Union of EPI dissociates herself from the release by NAPS as discussion is still ongoing with the school management and we can assure FPI students of a positive feedback.”
The SUG while commending the school management for not increasing hostel fees added that tuition fee has been free and is still free.
“Our dear colleagues should please take note that the tuition fee has been free and still free while other payments are service charges. It should also be noted that the increment in those charges was initiated by the immediate past administration of the school due to the hike in the cost of things in the country….
“The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro being known as a bedrock of excellent innovations has introduced some well-known professional courses (CISCO, ROBOTICS/UAE, MCATI) across all faculties. These professional courses are optional and they are a component of the service charges. To this end, we must commend the school management for not increasing the hostel fees over the years”
